Edward Hopper, study drawing for “A Woman in the Sun.”  From Hopper’s ledger—Book III, 1924–67. Ink, graphite, and colored pencil on paper.    Whitney Museum.
It looks like he had an alternate title, “The Wise Tramp.” Also, apparently he sold it to Mr. & Mrs. Albert Hackett for $15,000 - that would be approximately $100,000 in today’s dollars (not as much as he deserved, Hopper would have been 79 yrs old and well established at that point).
